Dedicated to quality

A very simple philosophy

We have a very simple philosophy: The very best quality of treatment, provided with care and personal attention, in accordance with the most up-to-date techniques.

Over many years we have worked very hard to be able to deliver this level of dentistry. The dentists, nurses, and staff regularly undertake courses to keep abreast of current knowledge and procedures. All of the dentists have post-graduate qualifications and are further involved in training programmes for other dental professionals. We have invested heavily in the latest diagnostic and treatment equipment, and have created a practice environment that is safe and comfortable.

We realise that many patients' experience of dentistry has been less than satisfactory, and in some cases very distressful. Our aim is to make a visit to our practice a positive and comfortable one, and to demonstrate what can be achieved with good skills, the best equipment, and a kindly and sympathetic manner.

We are different

We believe we are different. We have successfully treated even the most nervous patients with highly complex treatment needs. If you should need more convincing, we have numerous patients who would be only too happy to talk to you about their experiences and how we were able to help them.

As a new patient

It can be daunting to be a new patient in unfamiliar surroundings about to meet 'the dentist'.

At Smilecare we try to put you at your ease. When you book an appointment the receptionist will briefly tell you about the practice and the dentist whom you will be seeing. You will also be given an indication of the first visit costs.

We will then send you a 'New Patient Pack' which has a brochure about the practice, and a Medical History Questionnaire for you to fill in.

The first visit

You will be greeted by the receptionist and given further brief information on the facilities and staff. The dentist and nurse will introduce themselves and you will be given the opportunity to discuss any dental issues that may be worrying you. We will review your Medical History, and then proceed with a thorough dental examination and take any necessary radiographs. Often we will take photographs to help you understand any problems that have been identified. The dentist will then discuss your requirements with you, giving you appropriate alternatives and options to consider. A written treatment plan will be given to you and options for payment will be outlined. The receptionist will then arrange any further appointments which may be required.
