Awards

As a practice we constantly strive to be at the cutting edge of dental technology and skills. Over the years we have often led the way in receiving awards and recognition for the services we offer. In 2001 we were the first practice in the UK to be officially awarded the British Dental Association Good Practice Scheme plaque as recognition of our commitment to provide dental services to nationally recognised best practice standards.

Again in 2002 we were one of the first practices in Sussex to achieve Investors In People status. This is a nationally set level of personnel skills and practising procedures overseen by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills that an accredited organisation has to meet. This helps us to meet all our performance targets in delivering quality dental care.

Apart from the academic awards that we have received (detailed in 'The Team' section), we have always strived to invest in the most advanced equipment and technology that is often only found in specialist centres. For example, all of our dental surgeries have operating microscopes which allows us to carry out procedures to much higher standards, whether that be root canal treatments, crowns or surgical applications. We were the first practice in the country to use wireless digital radiology and one of the earlier users of wireless digital photography.

In 2010, Smilecare was one of the first dental practices in the UK to be accepted onto the IHAS Register. The award of the IHAS Quality Assurance Mark is a recognition of our commitment to high standards and best practise, especially in the delivery of cosmetic facial enhancements. We have elected not to remain on the register but you can be assured that we follow all the recommended clinical guidelines. In July 2013, Robert was awarded another dental post-graduate qualification from University College London.
